anyone have a codec to convert from midi file type to mp3???

It says in the http://www.dbpoweramp.com/spoons-audio-guide-formats.htm page that dBpowerAMP cannot convert midi files, because of the way midi files transmit data. There are, however, programs that convert MIDI to wave format. I recommend "ANY2WAV". Try doing a google search for it. It allows you to record whatever is coming out of your speakers.

You can also use dMC Auxiliary Input to capture the wav file and then you convert the wav file to mp3. You can also capture directly to mp3 but it's not really recommended since you may want to get the best audio file first which is the wav and then experiment with different settings for the mp3.
