Disk is one third full.

It could also happen if a virus checker blocked the file. The installer self checks for corruption prior to running, so the installer is 100% correct otherwise it would not install any files.

If you have no virus checker, run a check disc on your drive.

Avast! 2014.9.2018 is the culprit. First time ever Avast has blocked an Illustrate installation for me.

If you can submit the mp3.dll file to avast so they can white list.

Same for me, impossible to install Perfect Tunes V 1.7
Blocked by Avast
Return to the version 1.6 !
Dommage !

You would not be able instal dBpoweramp R15.1 either (32 bit) as it uses the same dll, the issue is with Avast, if your security software is blocking legitimate programs, then it is not doing its job.

Hi Spoon,

I Have installed yesterday DBP R.15.1 (64 bit / Windows 8.1) without any problem

Problem occurs only with update of Perfect Tunes 1.7

Problem declared by Avast seems to be with different TMP file :

For example this one :

AppData\Local\Temp\Ins416.tmp

With same infection :

Infection : Win32:Evo-gen [Susp]

It is a false error, there is no virus in that dll. These virus checkers are getting poor at detecting real viruses, as time goes on their detection rate drops, yet the false positive rate (as in this case) goes up. R15 of dBpoweramp triggered lots of false positives (8 months ago) as did PerfectTUNES r1.6, a poor showing....

The 64 bit version of mp3.dll will appear different to the 32 bit version of mp3.dll, even though they were compiled from the same code at the same time...

I have the same problem with Norton, which actually removes it after installation. It states that it is SONAR (heuristic). Reverted back to 1.5 with no problems.

Report to Norton, they will update their database.

I have tried with my other computer ... same problem, absolutely impossible to install the new version 1.7

Spoon, I have a registered version, do not understand why this time it is impossible to install the update.

Never had any problem by the past with updates

just as a datapoint, I've installed with no issues on my two Win7 (64) machines, both using Microsoft Security Essentials as my virus checker.

I have managed to get Norton to accept it and it is now a trusted site. New version installed and working. I've also submitted a false positive report. Same goes for Asset and I've posted the same message on there.
Thanks

After a message sent to Avast all is OK now (false positive)

Norton blocks install of PerfectTunes r1.7

identifies threat SONAR.Heuristic.120

I can override the quarentine - how do i tell Norton to unblock this for others?

Sometimes these programs have a submit feature when an item is quarantined.
