Is there a limit to the no. of files that Batch Converter (DMCFileSelector.exe/CoreConverter.exe) can handle? I have just found a couple of random errors in the event log (Windows 7 64-bit) when selecting a large number of files and running the Replay Gain Utility Codec Release 3 (dBpoweramp R14.4)?

It is possible to run over the 4GB memory limit of a 32 bit program, there is the 64 bit version R15 in testing which would not have this limit.

So, in the 32-bit program, what's a safe number of files to work with when converting? What criteria do I need to look at when selecting the no. of files to convert?

I ask because I have just done another Replay Gain conversion (non EBU R128) on 9,012 files. After 70% thru the conversion I got a couple of errors as mentioned earlier, at the end of the conversion process I get this:

Please note also that my avast! Free Antivirus v.8.0.1497, all shields have been disabled permanently.

The size of the ID Tags can play a part, if you can try the R15 release.

Spoon, a final point on these errors. Most of the time Music Converter finishes OK and it appears everything is OK with the conversion.

Is there anyway the error can be reported to the user on completion, rather than have to look in the event log?

I suspect many users may have errors in the event log and are oblivious to the fact that there are any problems.

Such crashes (out of memory) often mean the program is no longer in control, R15 will solve all memory issues.
