Hi,

First sorry for my english.

I have Windows 7 x64
I have msadpcm32.acm...

And i have a problem trying to convert any mp3 file into a compressed wav.

http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/5562/prtscrcaptureop.jpg

The conversion finishes without log or errors information (I've checked the options to show it), But i get a wav file of 40-50 kbs, And obviously i can't play it (No music inside).

PD: It's not an audioplayer problem cause i have other wav files compressed with (Microsoft) ADPCM and i can play it, like for example this file:

I really need to convert the files using the Microsoft ADPCM codec, not IMA adpcm or other.. but anyway... i could not get work the other codecs...

I've searched about codec ADPCM fix, codec questions and solutions about ADPCM, codec packages (klite, 7codecs...), i've tryed ffdshow...
NOTHING worked for me.
But i remember that one year ago i could compress good too many files using Microsoft ADPCM (using dbpoweramp ofcourse) so i've tryed to install again Windows 7 (Into VirtualBox) but the problem stills.

Please, any help?
Thankyou for read...

EDIT: i've tryed beta version of dbpoweramp 14.3 too...

The source files are 16 bit, 44KHz, 2 Channel?

The source files are 16 bit, 44KHz, 2 Channel?

Hi Spoon, Can you tell me how i can check the bitdepth of the mp3 files?

Anyway to ensure it i've tryed this:

Mp3 to uncompressed WAV (16 bit, 44 khz, 2 channels stereo) and then tryed to convert that wav using ADPCM, The result is again the same unplayable (I think) file: http://exoshare.com/download.php?uid=0RCZAFFG

PD: and this is the test.mp3 file: http://exoshare.com/download.php?uid=EGF0HB1O

Thankyou so much for the help, And if someone can test the files...

Mp3 is bitdepth independent.

If you cannot convert a 16 bit, 44KHz, 2 channel then the issue is the adpcm encoder is not accepting that format, try different settings for the adpcm encoder (and match the source frequency to the setting, ie 22khz with a DSP effect 'resample')

I know this is an old topic but after 3 years the problem is not solved in dbPoweramp.

I will try to explain it in other way this time.

In Windows 7/8/8.1/10 x64, when trying to convert an mp3 file (or any other like an uncompressed wav) to compressed wav using the ADPCM codec, it generates a small file that sizes about 60-60 kb that has any music data, its unplayable. But the conversion does not generates any error log.

Please, developers od dbPowerTeam, interest about my question in the meaning of trying to see what is happenning inside dbPoweramp.

How I'm very sure this is not an user-side problem and its a dbPoweramp bug? Just because a simple reason: In other programs I can use the codec as normally.

This is the ADPCM settings that I try in dbPoweramp, which fails:

These are the same settings that I use in Sony sound forge, which success perfectlly:

Then ...what happens with dbPowerAmp? why it can't convert using ADPC? in these years i used many Windows versions, in any of them worked, of course this is not an user-independant issue... its clearly a dbPoweramp issue, but the problem persists after 3 years and no body else seems to have noticed or reported the problem?.

This is the latest sample that I tried to convert using dbPoweramp, the same sample can be converted to ADPCM using other audio applications as I demonstrated.

Please Spoon, could you try to find what happens about ADPCM and dbPoweramp? what do you think could be the problem of conversion about it?.

Thanks for read!.

Seems that I can't edit my last post to fix some miss-types I did, sorry about that.

I forgot to mention that the dbPoweramp version that Im using now is v15.3 of 64 Bits
