Just short question:
when using "mp3 (Lame)" with the music converter, to what LAME command line option(s) the setting "Encoding (Slow/Normal/Fast)" refers?

Edit:
Adding second question regarding converting from FLAC to MP3:
Why the character "/" in a FLAC tag is converted to "\" in an MP3 tag (e.g. artist AC/DC -> AC\DC)?

I think it directly relates to the "-q" commandline parameter in lame. Different values of that parameter will tell lame to try and spend more time processing to create a higher quality mp3 (or spend less time for a lower quality mp3.) Note that the -q parameter does NOT change bitrates.

However, reading through various forums, it seems that since lame v3.97 or so (when vbr_new became default), that particular parameter has no effect on either quality or speed when encoding with VBR. It _does_ make a difference when using ABR or CBR modes.

Take care
Gary

Slow is -q 2 and Fast is -q 7

>AC/DC

With ID3v2.3 / separates multiple artists
