I recently purchased a Plextor Drive replacing my LG Drive. While ripping the same CD's with Plextor I noticed that all rips were insecure while with the LG I had secure rips. What could be the reason for the same? My settings with Plextor are as follows:
Ripping Speed 1x
C2 pointer checked.
Secure Rip.

What offset has been set for the plextor?

x1 ripping speed is not a good idea.

Off set is 99. Why is 1x speed not a good idea?

Modern drives are designed to rip at maximum speed and many are bad at x1 speed.

Which model is it?

The model no. is PX-W1210A. I have also tried ripping at 8x & the result is the same....Insecure Rip

I should also let you know that though this is a Plextor Drive I have purchased it from Aqvox so maybe they have modified the drive somewhat.

So how do I solve the problem of Insecure Rip?

Buy another drive? or try different settings (such as no c2, etc)

Wouldnt it be simpler to dump dbpoweramp & use EAC, which is less sensitive to drives????

Your choice :)
