Hi, how does dbpa batch ripper handle different pressings of the same title?
My naming scheme is Artist/Title/Disc Number/Track Number aka Helmet - Meantime - 1.01.aac.
But if two cds come up with the same metadata then the second one will be named the same as the first, and presumably produce an error.
Does Batch Ripper have a provision for dealing with this, for instance renaming the second version like Helmet - Meantime (2) - 1.01.aac or even Exception 1.01.aac?

When I rip manually, I'll put info in the title such as "Mars Audiac Quintet CRC" or "Loveless UK". With batch ripping, I can go in after ripping and change tags, but only if the files are actually saved.

It will overwrite the first with the 2nd.

Thanks. It's good that it won't generate an error. Does it logs this if it happens?

I think it might be more useful to rip as Exception 1, Exception 2, and so forth, so as not to lose the data.

It would not log this.

Thanks, Spoon.

The workaround is to rip each batch to a new directory, then copy to a target directory and if filenames are the same, Windows will prompt. Still, it adds an extra step.
