I Have found a Problem with using the Batchripper and Plextor CD Drives.
When i using a Plextor CD Drive with the Batchripper i have following Error:

->You Start the Batchripper
->The tray from the Plextor Drive opens and after 2min can you see the Error message on the Screen

Tray Problem:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Tray for Drive E, did not open, press OK when this has been remedied by Hand
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have testet with following Drives:

Plextor Plexwriter Premium
Plextor PX-W5224TA
Plextor PX-W4824TA
Plextor PX-W2410TA

(All Plextor&*347; have the same effect!)

I have testet with different PC&*347; and different Amtren Robotic&*347;
After replace the Plextor Device with a other (Samsung Yamaha LG) works the Batchripper Fine!!

Drives 2-4 would possibly not work, due to them not being MMC compliant, the Premium should work, how is it connected to the PC, which windows are you running?

Tryed OS:
Win XP SP2
Win XP SP3

Connection via USB
Tryed Chipset:

Ali M5624
Genesys Logic GL811E

How can i solve the Problem?

Try a direct IDE connection if you can.

Dear Spoon,
i think this is no USB to IDE Bridge Problem!

I have testet the Plextor PX-W5224TA CD Burner USB connected with the dbpoweramp CD-Ripper.
With the Program EJET Button i can Open and Close the CD Tray!

The Plextor CD Burner only dosent Work with the Batchripper!

Do you have to select the special 'D8' read mode in CD Ripper?

No
All settings are standard settings.
No change!

Bastian - that error message is from my driver. Add --olderdrives to each of the five command lines in the batch ripper setup for your robot.

Spoon - sorry I didn't catch this sooner.

Thanks Brendan!

Bastian,

Let us know if the --olderdrives flag resolves the issue for you.

Dear Brendan,
i have now tested the new Configuration.
This is each one of the five changed command lines

--olderdrives --comport=COM6 --comspeed=9600

2nd Running

--comport=COM6 --comspeed=9600 --olderdrives

Is this right?
The Problem is not fixed!

Bastian:

Try --olddrives instead of --olderdrives. The current code accepts both, but older versions might only accept the first one.

If that doesn't work, I might need to send you an update to work with partially-compliant MMC drives.

Which robot do you have this in?
