I only have a 1Gb card for my fone (which wont play newer 9.2/10 WMA files)
which is the best codec for smallest size and good quality?

ALSO:
apart from using the EQ in Plugins is there summit I can use to increase volume? I notice the Volume Plugin only allows to DECREASE vol... I would like to be able to increase volume while still changing the EQ... (instead of increasing all on EQ to increase vol a little which is what I have been doing)

thanks

Use the Volume Normalize codec, and experiment with the various settings to see which does what you want.

Also, what format does your phone play? From your other post, it looks like it is AAC and mp3, so I would try a 128kbps m4a and 128kbps mp3 and see which sounds better to you.

my fone is a Sony Ericsson W880i and supports the following:
MP3, MP4, M4A, 3GP, AAC, AAC+, Enhanced AAC, AMR, MIDI, IMY, EMY, WAV, REAL8... and WMA 9.1

which of those is best for smallest size?

If the "AAC+" and "Enhanced AAC" are what I think they are (HE-AAC), then that would probably sound best at low bitrates.

How about 128bit AAC(LC) vs 192bit CBR MP3?

The AAC encode is about 30% smaller in file size, but I don't trust my ears to tell the difference.

Thanks!
