View Full Version : temp files when converting to .aac

It seems that conversion to .aac occurs in 2 steps; a 1kb placeholder .aac file is created, with the real information being contained in a .tmp file. Upon completion, the .tmp file is deleted and the .aac file becomes valid.

Unfortunately, some of the time it seems that the second stage is not carried out; the aac file obviously won't play, and renaming the tmp file doesn't work either.

How big are your source files? (in minutes)

Hmm... I'm not sure exactly, as I've deleted all the ones that failed. Certainly, though, it's happened when converting album tracks (and when it has, the entire album's failed), so 3-5 minutes.

Try converting to m4a, then use the [m4a >> aac] utility codec to extract.
