I am having trouble converting mp3s to a lower bit rate. I check the forum for a similar post, but didn't find anything sufficiently similar. I have installed the latest version (12.4 registered) and have checked for new version of codecs, etc. Below are screen-shots:

I have screen-shots of the error messages if helpful.

Please help!

Try converting to Test Conversion, does it crash?

I am having the same problem, while attempting to convert mp3s to a lower bitrate (192 CBR). I'm using 13.1.
The file converts and the converter box says finished, but also get "CoreConverter.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Upon checking the output file, the music apprears to be intact but is missing tag information.

I tried running a test conversion and this worked fine with no error.

All files (you are converting) are crashing or just one?

All files, this happens if I try converting; a single file, selection, or try using the batch converter.

IF you want to send over a file which crashes, and the exact setting you are using (encoder settings) I will see if it can be reporduced:

just as a heads up I was having this same problem (CoreConverter Crashing when trying to write ID3 Tags) and finally got the file to convert correct by removing text from the "Artist Webpage" ID3 Field

I have been hitting similar problems lately. I'm converting to Apple Lossless -- some of the files work, but a number of them get Core Converter errors. These leave wave files behind that I can't play in foobar or convert to Apple Lossless due to some missing information. Some of the rips are ripped Securely and some are designated as AccurateRip. Any ideas?

You can send over the file which crashes, with instructions on the setting used to encode. The previous crash is verified as a bug in the mp3 tag writing and will be fixed in r13.2 beta, the wave file might also have the same bug as it uses a mp3 tag internally.

I notice that some others have encountered these errors, too. Is there any word on when the 13.2 beta will be released? Is it possible to try this beta to see if the error persists?

Cleared all ID3 tag info from files & the process quit bombing after each file conversion. Guess it's the same bug as everyone else, and we're waiting on the next revision?
