Greetings-

I started with the Reference trial and started ripping to flac without any problems. About four discs in, I got the error message stating that the program is not working and Vista would be shutting down the app. Any ideas on this? I even registered and paid for the Reference version, reloaded and same problem. Your help would be appreciated..

Thanks/cbd

Are you ripping with secure or burst mode? Try the other mode, mabye.
Limited or Administrator account?
Latest version of dMC, r12.3?

Secure mode and R12.3. Not sure about admin vs. limited. The actual Vista message is ...dbpowerAmp has stopped working... The program is locked and I can't get to any of the menus to make changes without re-installing the program which I have already tried with no success...

Try ripping to test conversion.

Hi Spoon. The program loads and freezes. Can't do anything but close the app. Deleted and reinstalled with the same result. What's next?

Try running the dMC removal tool here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=13285

Okay Spoon. That worked and I've been ripping for the last few hours. Thanks for the help. Now onto two more questions-

1) does FLAC compression 1 through 8 effect playback quality?
2) None of my discs seem to be in the AccurateRip db. Any ideas on this?

Thanks...

1. All compression levels of FLAC are lossless, the compression level just affects the file size and the effort needed to decompress/compress the file
2. You have configured AccurateRip, right?

if you mean checked in the options menu- then yes...

No, I mean you put in a disc and AccurateRip offered to configure
If you check in the Options menu under the "CD ROM" section, what does it say for "Sample Offset"?

yes it offers and I've had a few show the AR logo next to the rip over the last 30 minutes one with AR 1 and one with AR 8. The offset is +102.

Then it is using accuraterip (if it shows AR 1 or AR 8)
