I am currently tackling the age old problem of getting 100% accurate rips from Audio CDs, I have called my implementation AccurateRip, I will keep my cards close to my chest at the moment as to the technical details, but I will go as far as to say when the system is fully operational it will be the first program in the world to guarantee 100% accurate rips...I hope to beta within 2 weeks.

Well I have a track on a CD that has glitches for about five seconds that EAC, dMC and Winamp (special digital CD input plugin) can't get 100% correct waiting! Strange enough, EAC's burst mode performed the best, yes better than its secure mode. Ripping drive in question: Ricoh MP7120A. Haven't tried the track on my Lite-Ons yet...

Can't wait!

Not sure it will help you with that CD. The system is designed to rip at the maximum speed of your CD drive and at the end it will accurately say if the rip is 100% without error.

What happens if it does detect errors? does it point out the suspicious sections like EAC does (when it works :) )?

No, it will just say the rip had errors. I think the big problem with EAC is I have seen numerous reports where EAC reported no errors, where other drive specific programs did report errors, not to mention the impossibility of setting up a drive (knowning if it caches, C2 works correctly).

The dMC system does away with all that - it will accurately report if the rip was without error, regardless of the drive.

will this have a feature such as the EAC option/feature whereby if an error is detected, it corrects it/ie. it rips twice?????

well the big test for it will be a couple of really scratched discs and my mostly ok ricoh drive.

i look forward to seeing if you can program it well enough ;)

I don't think it can magically recover bad discs - what it can do is report 100% accurately if the rip was without error, something that not even EAC manages...

i realise that, but i look forward to it anyway. it should be a great addition to dmc

Could the program be made to automattically go back and fix the incorrect parts of the song? If so, that'd be far more useful than just saying if it was correctly ripped or not- it's fairly easy to tell that from listening to the song, after all. Nice concept, though.

That is where I am aiming to go, but initially I want to see how it functions in the wild so to speak as it is.
