In the secure ripping options there is Detect Drive Cache, Clear Read Cache with FUA, C2 Error Pointers for Error Detection. The later two are greyed out. Why is this? I though C2 error detection was quite vital as might slow down and or repass based on this information..

Both of those features are dBpoweramp Reference only, as stated in the Advanced CD Ripper help file and, at least for c2, here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/db-versions.htm

But I am running the reference trial. Downloaded at this link:

Are you saying you only get to actually activate these two features when you buy the product? That means we can't try them in advance to see how they work...

No, the trial should have the features. Check dBpoweramp Configuration (Start --> Programs --> dBPoweramp Music Converter --> Configuration --> dBpoweramp Configuration) and make sure it recognized your trial and that it has not expired.

Yes it says I have 21 days left on the trial. I can see it doing things like using both threads with one ripping and one encoding. but this feature is greyed out. note the other secure rip options are not.

You are running as the same user that installed the program?

yes absolutely. not the issue here...

i can test the "drive write cache" option just above which is an advanced only option. its just the "fua support" and "c2 error checking" that are greyed out....

Did it say PowerPack or Reference trial?

It says "Reference: Trial (21 days remaining)

under dBpoweramp Configuration in the versions pane and top Music Convertor row.

Have you rebooted since insalling the Reference trial? Did you have another trial of dMC installed before this one?
