The cd writer isn't worker with Windows Vista. Keeps going back to the first screen everytime I try to rip the cd instead of actually ripping the music. Is there a current fix to this cause I downloaded the newest version to try to upgrade the program but it didnt work.

Are you running dCW as an Administrator?

Edit: Also, the dCW page doesn't say it is compatible with Windows Vista, so it may not be.

We have done no testing, try right clicking on CD writers icon and select Run as administrator.

That didn't work. Is there something else to get it work. My cd ripper in Napster works fine. For some wierd reason this one stopped working.

Are you having trouble with the CD writer or the CD ripper? dMC r12 includes a CD ripper that works in Vista. However, if you are having trouble with the CD Writer, then you can't upgrade to dMC r12.

Ok I finally got it to work but now the thing is being registered as "not bought" which I did pay for this program. How do I fix this?

What is saying "not registered"? Could you paste what dMC Configuration says, using the "Copy to Clipboard" button and then paste it here, please?

You can't use dCW with dMC r12, unless you follow the instructions here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/legacy-compatibility.htm

Does this mean I have to repurchase the program?

No. First, uninstall every dBpoweramp product. Then, install your registered version of dCW, then install dMC r12 to a different directory, making sure not to let it uninstall the old version.

Umm too late.....

Now what?

As long as you put dCW and dMC r12 in different directories, install dMC r11.5 in the same directory as dCW. If you put dCW and r12 in the same directories, you will probably have to uninstall dCW, then reinstall dCW/dMC r11.5 in a different directory.

I've done everything that's been said here to try to get the Cd writer to work in Vista and it still won't work. It simply cannot recognize the CD drive.

Did you ever find out that the CD writer is definitly not compatable with Vista? I'm talking dBpower R 11.

What about Windows Seven? It won't start at all :(

In Windows 7 it does not seem to detect the drive (any drive), we do not have access to the CD writing 'core' code, to fix and the commercial project seems to have been dropped...we will investigate purchasing the source.

With me it works in windows7 as follows:

start goto dBpoweramp CD Writer and rightclick properties.

go to tab compability and check compabilitymodus with Windows XP SP3.
Apply and OK.

restart start - dBpoweramp CD Writer and there is your CD Writer and you can burn.

There is another small problem: on the cd you get Track 01, etc and not the original titles.
