Ogg Vorbis is royalty free.

And I'm not sure if WMA requires a royalty, but I believe adding the DRM requires licensing it from MS or something.

yes i know about the drm so i wasnt too sure about a normal wma.

i was choosing wma only because of the common format. but may also offer the ogg format too. i just have to be sure i dont get into trouble selling wma format. the music files are relaxation music from the musician himself so its all legal music but just needed to sell on a legal format.

I have seen a page where there is licensing for wma, it might be only for embedded devices though.

ok, cool. it is hard to find info on it. relaxation music on WMA Q10 seems to come out the other end fine and very small files. one album over 40 mins was only approx 12 meg :D
