hi,

i am unable to convert .rm files to .mp3 files even after downloading the codec, what it says is......error whilst converting:
"The CODEC required to decompress 'C:\Junikokugenei_(sub_theme).rm' could not be opened.
DirectShow filter for '.rm' not installed, or Audio File Corrupt."

i'm very sure that the Audio file is not corrupted as i am able to play it in real player. i am too quite sure that i have already installed directshow decoder and have configured it to " .rm ".

the strange thing is that this all happen during my second day of using dMC.
( In the first day, i manage to convert .rm file to mp3 files)

i have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but it doesn't work.

can anyone pls help me?

For the DirectShow codec youneed the filters AND Real Alternative with its filters - which means you have to get rid of Real Player as they don't coexist.

If you can play it in Real Alternative (Media Player Classic) then it should be convertible.

But some real media files cannot be converted usign DirectShow. So then you cantry using the older real media decoder - so have Real Player installed BUT NOT Real Alternative.

Finally it may happen that neither can convert if the file is possible either encrypted or encoded to multiple audiences (that seems to happen).

Are you sure your .rm file is not a stream itself?
