Monkey Business?

I'm new to this entire cd ripping process and to dbpoweramp so I apologize in advance if my question is silly or has an obvious answer I have overlooked...
I have been using dbpoweramp to rip my cd's to flac and everything seemed to be working fine however..when I look at my "converted music" directory I find that all downloaded music has been saved as "media monkey files". Wassup with this??? Thiis is problematic for me because I was trying to use "album art downloader" to get cover art but this program looks for albums in folders and there were none (only media monkey files)... The questions I have are... 1) has anybody else had this problem? 2) how to get it to stop 3) can db poweramp be set to save albums into folders and finally..4) is there a way to convert these files into folders?I am benig monkeyed with I think. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks

Re: Monkey Business?

You are referring to files ripped with dBpowerAMP Music Converter (dMC) which you play in your Media Monkey player.
When Explorer is showing these files as "monkeys media files" it is erferring to the player is set as the default player for those files. You can tell if they are Flac files by opening the file tag (place the mouse over one of these files and the tag information should appear).

Best wishes,
Bill

Re: Monkey Business?

Also, if your using "Audio CD Input" click on Options and then "File Creation". Change the default "artist - track" to something like "artist/album/artist - track" or what I use, "[artist]\[album]\[track number xx] - [artist] - [track]"

Re: Monkey Business?

Make sure you enable viewing file extensions for known file types in Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View . That will dispell any uncertainty about the file types you are dealing with.
