Atrac to MP3

I have been unable to make the above mentioned converter work. I always get the error message, "Failed to connect source filter (omg_src) to dest filter (omg transform)"

I aslo get this error message.

Really? Who told you that?

ATRAC loses badly in a recent multiformat test. In fact it finishes last.

Geez all you have to do is use sony's program to make the atrac files to an audio cd and then use, media player or something similar to copy an audio cd to mp3!

you guys probably already know. but sony have released a converter for use with sonic stage 2.1 to convert atrac to wav.

With respect to the Sony Wave Converter, Sony says:

Specifically, this tool is only for OpenMG Audio format files that have been recorded through the MIC or LINE-IN (analog) input from a Hi-MD™ Walkman® device and uploaded to SonicStage® software. Convertible tracks recorded through a Hi-MD device can be converted to WAV format files using the WAV Conversion Tool.

This leads me to suppose that, while valuable, this program may not be suited to the needs of someone who is trying convert files they downloaded or ripped to in Atrac format.

If someone could confirm this one way or another, it would be helpful for the other Atrac users who visit here.
