Re: CD Ripper files not ripping complete file

Just ran into that problem yesterday. 15.2 beta ptoduces strange results with flac encoder. Using an external Samsung drive on my iMac generates faulty very small files, using the internal drive gives proper results. Reverted back to 15.1, everything is fine again with both drives. Please see attachment for details.

If you rip to wave, it is the same?

Was there any resolution to this? Is it related to the drive calibration (for lack of a more precise term, something related to an offset I recall) during installation?

            Re: dBpoweramp R15.2 Discussions

I have experienced something like jherbert's issue above, with 15.2 beta in secure ripping mode with my Sony XL1-B firewire changer.

On a certain disc, the last track ends up with zeroes.

            Looking at dBpoweramp while ripping, it goes to about 3 %, no longer;
            - if set to read into lead-out, it reads Pass 1 to 3 % and returns Error
            - if lead-in/lead-out unchecked, it reads to about 3 % each pass, and returns "Secure". That is pretty bad behaviour.

If I revert to Burst mode, I get a correct (AR verified) rip. Tried another drive, that is OK.

Uninstalling 15.2 beta resolves the problem, upon installing either
            - 15.1 Reference, or
            - 13.5 Reference
(I have no 14.x lying around)

              And another couple of issues:

              - Re-ripping a CD previously ripped with 13.5, appending to the log: The new part is unreadable. Is this a shift to unicode or something?

              - The C2 over firewire for the Sony XL1-B* is still defective. The strange thing is that it even messes up the burst rip. On a CD which verifies as accurate with burst, I would have expected that also secure mode would accept the burst pass - but no. A handful of frames to re-rip.

If you enable the Start LBA, and End LBA columns, the values are the same between R15.2 and R15.1?

We-e-ell. It's been a few hours since I installed 15.2 again just to try to check that.

Upon trying to read a CD from a drive, it consistently hangs. Even when I ask it to try the internal drive with its lid open.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times now, and I simply cannot get 15.2 to work. Back to 15.1 - after a bit of fighting and cursing.

Try right click CD Ripper icon >> run as administrator

if not work, then enable debug logging (in dbpoweramp configuration), run cd ripper until hangs, then end task cd ripper (in task manager), post the log please.

Will do once this rip job is done ... maybe I should have mentioned that that computer still runs XP.
15.2 did work at some instance, but then I am quite sure I installed it atop 13.5 Reference.
