    Converting back to original size

I was looking at a few of my tracks that are in mp3 and it tells me how much it's compressed, file size, and original size. Just for fun i converted it to .wav 16 bit 44khz. Now it shows its 0% compressed the file size is the same as the original and it says cd quality. Is it truly uncompressed cd quality. How can the file regain information its already compressed?

Once audio quality is lost, it is gone for good, you have simply unpacked the mp3. You still have an mp3 file, it jsut takes up more room.
