    Star Rating

    Hello,

Can somebody please help me put the star rating column back in it's default position (between CRC & Artist) in CD ripper? I unticked it then ticked it again while messing around and it's changed the order of things.

There is an option to restore default columns.

      Re: Star Rating

I know I'm bringing old threads back from the dead, but is there a way to have CD Ripper automatically reset the star rating to a certain amount? It seems as though it is downloading star ratings as part of the metadata and I'd rather they all be set the same.

      Thanks!

If you want your all your rips to have the same star rating, you can use the ID Tag Processing DSP>Additions tab. Add New tag called Rating and set your default value, e.g. 3

Thank you mville! I set that up but it appears it's still ripping them with the ratings that it got from the metadata. Is this a process I need to apply after songs are ripped?

I'm guessing that that approach is adding a second rating tag, rather than replacing the existing one. I think you need to apply the change in the Manipulations section of the ID Tag Processing DSP. I'm on a "non-dBp" laptop right now, so I can't look at it to cite the specific option for you, but if you need directions, let me know and I'll look.

Okay...I got off my butt and came upstairs to take a look!

              Give this a try:

Open the ID Tag Processing DSP -> Manipulation tab
Scroll down a bit to "Rule Based Manipulation" and click on the "Set" button
              Type this in the window:
              IFCONTAINS RATING=[anyvalue]
SET RATING=3 (or whatever value you want...)

If that doesn't do it, we'll try constructing the rule differently.

What happens if you add Rating to the ID Tag Processing DSP>Deletions tab, as well as the Additions tab i.e. delete the existing Rating and then add your Rating default.

CD Ripper >> Options >> Metadata and ID Tags, you can uncheck rating.

I have Rating (as a Single Tag) added to the ID Tag Processing DSP>Deletions tab and this removes the star rating from my flac rips.

I just use Spoon's method (below), for all the tags I don't want. dBp won't write the tags that are unchecked in that Options list.
