Many Discs from Box Sets Not Scanned into Assset v. 4.3

Why are multiple discs from commercial box sets not scanning into Asset 4.3? I am experienced with Dbpoweramp, but relatively new to Asset?

For example, I ripped a 16 CG set of Mahler and all tracks ripped as accurate. Only 13 of the 16 discs scan into Asset. I ripped a 10 CD box set of Corelli and only 3 of the 10 discs scan into Asset. Yet all tracks of all 10 discs ripped as accurate.

What is happening and/or what might I be doing incorrectly. I am using a Windows 7 dedicated music computer and all cds are appearing correctly in the music folder with one disc in each subfolder.

    Thank you,
    Tom

    If you look in :

    C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp

    or

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp

    there is a program:

    uMediaLibrary-dumpdb

Run it, the notepad will show, save the file, zip up the txt file then email to us please. Also include in the email the full filename off one of the tracks on a missing album.

      Spoon,

This program does not appear in my C: drive. Furthermore, Illustrate does not appear, but dbpoweramp does appear.

      Thanks,
      Tom

You may need to set windows file explorer to show hidden files/directories. just google "show hidden files windows" to get instructions.

          dBpoweramp 64 bit installs to C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp

asset is 32 bit so would install to:

          C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp

Unless you changed the install location.

            Spoon,

I am very sorry that I am lacking in smarts/skills. I have found uMediaLibrary. I believe this is running now and I truly do not see how to zip the text or to send this to you as I have no e-mail on my dedicated music computer.

Also, I now havw spent several days working with my music and I am finding that many albums in my music library, all FlAC and most accurate either do not appear in AssetUPnP or only one or more of a given album tracks appear.

Clearly your assistance is very much needed and appreciated.

If it helps, my music library contains about 86,000 tracks and 7,000 albums.

            Thank you ever so much,
            Tom

Save the generated text file to one of the shared network folders, then browse with another PC to get the text file.

How are you ripping / putting on the NAS? you rip locally then move the files to the NAS? or rip directly to NAS? your rip path is \\RA-DAW-365\Music\ ?

The reason I ask, here is disk 9, only 2 tracks are indexed:

\\RA-DAW-365\Music\Klaus Tennstedt & London Philharmonic Orchestra\Mahler Complete Symphonies, Mahler; Symphonies Nos. 9 (Conclusion) & 10 [Tennstedt], CD 12 of 16\01 Klaus Tennstedt & London Philharmonic Orchestra - Gustav Mahler, Symphony No. 9 in D, IV. Adagio.flac

This track has 268 characters in filename + pathname length, potentially the others are even longer and are stopping indexing.

                      Mr. Spoon,

I do not use a NAS, but rather the D drive of a dedicated music computer. I rip directly to the storage folder named RA_DAW-365 which is also D:\MUSIC on my computer network. Asset scans the music storage folder RA-DAW-365 directly.

Some track names seem relatively long, but others are relatively short. I generally try to shorten names, buy I do add the composer's name followes by a comma and space to the front of each track for identification.

How long can an album title be and how long can a track name be?

Is a detailed step-by-step guide to Asset available?

                      Thank you,
                      Tom

CD Ripper will set to a maximum of 260 chars, however if you rip to:

                        D:\MUSIC\

                        Then move to:

                        \\RA-DAW-365\Music\

you are adding an extra 10 characters to the path name. Which can put over the 260 limit on Windows.

                          Mr. Spoon,

                          1) Is a detailed step-by-step guide to Asset available?

                          2) My albums seem to be ripping well, but Asset is not picking up many of these, seemingly with long or short titles. Why?

                          Thank you,
                          Tom Swaman

                            Mr. Spoon,

The Mahler [Tennstedt] disc 12 of 16, about which you asked, only contains 2 tracks.

This disc is still not populating in Asset, but the remaining 15 of the 16 discs do populate in Asset. Other titles are just as long. Do you know why disc 12 is not appearing in Asset?

                            Thank you again,
                            Tom

Browse to the NAS and try to copy these files to the PC:

                              \\RA-DAW-365\Music\08-Symphony No.2 in B flat, Op.4 - 1. Allegro con moto.flac
\\RA-DAW-365\Music\Klaus Tennstedt & London Philharmonic Orchestra\Mahler Complete Symphonies, Mahler; Symphonies Nos. 9 (Conclusion) & 10 [Tennstedt], CD 12 of 16\01 Klaus Tennstedt & London Philharmonic Orchestra - Gustav Mahler, Symphony No. 9 in D, IV. Adagio.flac

Once on the PC if you have dBpoweramp convert both of these files to 'Test Conversion', are any errors reported.
