Over the decades, I've poured a lot of cash into the Music Industry Beast, frequently buying the same stuff more than once; you know, first the vinyl, then the CD, then the "remastered CD".
I don't really mind if they choose to invent ever more annoying copy-protection systems, but I do wish they would say so, preferably in big, friendly letters on the jewel-case:-
"THIS SO-CALLED CD IS NOT RED BOOK COMPLIANT AND WON'T PLAY ON ANY LAPTOP YOU CAN BUY. AS FOR LISTENING ON YOUR MP3 PLAYER, NO CHANCE".
Then we could just not buy their products.
Of course, as anyone knows who followed the Terra Firma fiasco over EMI, the music industry is full of executives that are not only greedy, but stupid.
