Audio dropouts after switching to asset release 4

Hello Spoon,

I use a ripnas with a linn klimaxds and when on asset release 3 I had no issues at all with audio dropouts. After changing to asset release 4 I'm experiencing quite a few dropouts. Just to ensure that the problem didn't lie elsewhere I have done quite a bit of troubleshooting and the problem seems to be with the new asset. My network setup is robust and as per Linn recommendations even so far as hardware choices. When I stream from my computer which does not run asset I get no dropouts at all---rock solid performance-- it's only when streaming from ripnas that I have problems. I have the housekeeping issue locked down on the ripnas as per usual. I checked to make sure my switch port where ripnas plugs in wasn't at fault and it isn't. Changed ethernet cables and that didn't help-- problem definitely isolated to ripnas. Any suggestions to correct this or how can I go back to asset release 3 until this issue is resolved. Are you sure it is not scanning the tracks whilst the drop outs occur? Asset v4 is way more robust as far as streaming is concerned (it caches the audio track in memory)

Sorry Spoon I'm not following, what do you mean scanning tracks while the dropout is occurring. If you mean scanning new tracks put on the ripnas I allowed 2 days before using ripnas after putting new tracks on it.

uninstall existing version, install the above (they are the trial version, but your registration status stays).
