    HDCD DSP Default Setting

    Hi there,

I've just started using dBpoweramp and let me say that buying this software was money very well spent. With regard to the HDCD DSP, I am at a bit of a loss to understand the default option: “+6dB Amplification (align 20 bit result in upper 24 bit range)”. I have searched fruitlessly for an explanation of this setting. Would it be possible for someone to provide an explanation on the use and impact of this setting please?

    Thanks in advance…

Typically the HDCD effect produces audio which is quieter than your existing audio, this setting amplifies up. Really you would be better:

    HDCD without +6DB
Volume Normalize DSP Effect - set to replay track gain.
