Unhappy RCA Lyra RD2201A - No Config File

I recently got out my mp3 player bought a new compact flash and can't find the original CD. I downloaded your set of programs and the removable driver for the Lyra 1 thinking I could load the CF. The player says it can't find PMP folder. If I create that in Windows XP, the player can't find the config file.

When Sveta Portable Audio Formats the CF, it deletes everything and I have no PMP and config. Do you have something for putting those on the CF before the audio files?

Are you writing and formatting the CF card through the Lyra, or are you using a CF reader connected to the PC?

    Lyra....

I do not have the parallel port writer or the jukebox software. The directions say if the unit says the PMP folder or config file can't be found, then transfer the music to the CF with the original jukebox program. In order for the Portable Audio program to trasfer files to the card and then for the Lyra to play those files, the folder and config files must already be there.

Is there something in the suite of programs that creates those files or initializes the CF before the tracks are put down? Am I dense and just not doing everything that needs to be done? I think I've read all of the instructions that are on your site......

For use with Sveta you need the Parallel Cable.

The no longer have the parallel cable available. It was a CF read/writer. They do have a conversion to USB kit that is still available. Do you think if I bought that your software would create the proper configuration?

The PMP folder is the same as that in your Realjukebox folder. It appears to contain the decoding software that the player used to play the mp3 files.

Mine likes to garble any mp3 I put into it, otherwise i'd post a copy, but thats another problem

Re: RCA Lyra RD2201A - No Config File

im having the same prob..i dug out my lyra a week ago and lost the software and the cable,,,,however it had the original music on it that i had when i packed it away, the music played fine. but trying to figuare out how to transfer the wird file type to it"not mp3" i used my 9 in 1 card reader to delete the files on it including the pmp file. soo ummm reading this forum i assume that was a mistake and if i was to keep the pmp file on the card. all i would of had to do is downloaded jukebox and used that program to convert the mp3's to the correct format... so the question remains how do i get a new pmp and config files,,,please let us know

ok thanks to spoons help on another forum,,,, create a pmp folder on your card, then download the files from this link(very easy) and place them into your pmp file,,,,then you can simply copy and past mp3 files to your card if you have a card reader. Do not place those files into the pmp file however. just put them into your card. the link is http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/sveta...-Pmp-folder.zip

Angry RCA Lyra RD2204A - No Config File

I need the config files for my lyra "RD2204A" I tried using the files that were for the RD2201A and the error message no longer displayed and I was able to see the tracks listed on my lyra screen but the audio files just beeped and made weird noises. Can anybody help me?
