    Resample 176/24 flac

    Hi,

i have downloaded an album from Hdtracks in 176/24 Flac. As my Squeezebox Touch only reads up to 96/24 i want to resample the album to 96khz (or 88,2 if possible; i didn't find...). I tried with Music Converter flac to flac with dsp effect resample on 96000, but in output i have only small files of a few kb. then i tried flac to wav, i have larger files as result but i can't read them with VLC on my MAC (i can read 176/24 with VLC).

    Thank You for your help.

Make sure you have only the DSP Effect Resample, not the effect Maximum length, etc in the list.

Also try converting FLAC >> Wave with no DSP effects, then play in Windows Media Player to check the FLAC file was free from corruption.

    Thank You for your reply,

i've tried now flac to wav and flac to flac without resample, and it worked.
Flac 176400 to flac 44100 works also. Converting to 96000 or 48000 is not ok.
So i think if there was the possibility of converting to a value of 88200, it would be ok.

Make sure you have the latest DSP Effects installed (R7 off the top of my head), there have been resample issues which were fixed quite awhile ago.

I am experiencing the exact same problem with the current DSP's. Resampling 24Bit Flac's from 176400 to 96k results in corrupted files.

    Re: Resample 176/24 flac

Pre Touch Squeezeboxs had max resolution of 48/24 and automatically downsampled 96/24 to 48/24. I suspect Touch will follow suit and automatically convert file for playback to 96/24. If so, this will be a better solution than converting the file permanently from 176/24 to 96/24.

    Hello,
exactly same problem here. I'm trying to resample 176kHz/24bit FLAC to 96kHz/24bit FLAC with results of 50 to 200 kbytes files (also when resampling to 192kHz this problem appears). I have the latest DSP R7. Resampling to 88.2kHz works fine. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Re: Resample 176/24 flac

I have the same problem, conversion from 176.4kHz produces corrupt files. I have newest DSP rev 8 and not working. fracart seems to be the only one for whom it works, but how does it not work for everybody else? Has anybody found a way to convert 176 => 96khz? I spent $38 now to convert one 176khz album - was my money wasted?

Use the DSP effects to convert 176 >> 192KHz then 192 >> 96 (not sure if it will work, but worth a try).

I will mark it down as a bug for R9 dsp effects.

Didn't work, 176 => 192 is already corrupted. Looks to me re-sampling works only in factors of 2, because 176khz converts fine to 88khz.

YES !!! Verified: DSP R9 fixes this. Odd resample factors are supported now, I had no problem converting 176kHz => 96kHz. Thank you!
