    [codec] DSD (SACD) Decoder

DSD (Direct Stream Digtal) is the audio format used for Super Audio CDs (SACD). This codec is able to decode .dff files (DSD Interchange File Format). At this time of writing, it is not possible to read the audio from a SACD disc as no PC based drives exist.

DSD is an unusual format in that it is 1 bit with a very high sample rate (2822400 Hz), from this it is possible to create a 24 bit file by reducing the sample rate.

DSD input plugin based on Sebastian Gesemann's dsd2pcm

It is able to decode .dff and .dsf files, dsf files are also able to be tagged.

Sounds very interesting, but what is the practical use if it cannot decode SACD's? Thanks.

There are some artists who release dsd tracks for download. SACD ripping on a PS3 is soon to be here.

    Hi,

I tried DSD to WAV codec

Performs DSD64 files OK, but not DSD128 (outputs a file said to be 176.4kHz/24bit but sounds horrific)

    Thank you however

i've three possibilities to extract the dff files

    1.) Extract DSD Stereo Files
    2.) Extract DST Multichannel
    3.) Extract DST Stereo

which is the best (most supported) way with the on the fly decoder plugin?

This codec needs a .dff file, rather than a raw dsd stream.

    Re: DSD (SACD) Decoder

I have just installed this for some DSF albums from Acoustic Sounds that I have purchased.

I just want to ask, did I install the newest release? (File says it was last modified on February 04, 2014)

I installed the link in the first post by Spoon. Just want to make sure Im using the newest version (which I believe it is since it asked to be installed in my x64 (program files) folder).
