D'oh! That might be the problem right there...

Thanx for the reply... doing a full system reinstall (for other problems not related to dbPowerAmp) Will remember to use different directories.

    :D

Re: how do I play FLAC files in DBpowerAmp

Ok, I know I'm making this post longer than it needs to be, but once again I am having troubles getting dAP to play FLAC files.

I can't remember what happened to remove the ability, but now I can't get it back again. Here is the process I have taken.

Uninstall all versions of dAP and DMC while keeping the directory structure and my AMG license file.
X:\Audio\dAP and X:\Audio\dMC for install directories.

Installed older 11.5 dMC to the dAP folder, installed legacy flac codec.
Installed dAP r2 to dAP folder.
At this point dMC shows powerpack registered and that dAP is not installed. (oh well no biggie)

install dMC 12.2 Reference to dMC folder, install newer codec to dMC folder
Installed dAP r3 beta 6 to dAP folder to upgrade.
Now, dMC recognizes the FLAC codec (both 11.5 and 12.3) but dAP still won't associate with flac files.

      What did I do wrong?

dAP will only show as installed if you use the r3 beta.
When you installed the new FLAC codec, you told it to NOT uninstall the current codec, right? And dMC Configuration (r11.5) shows the FLAC codec as installed, correct?

Hmm.. I might have told it to uninstall, would reinstalling old and then new again work? or do I have to go through the whole process again?

Just reinstall the old and tell it to NOT uninstall the existing codec. Also, make sure the old one installs to the dMC r11.5 directory.

Re: how do I play FLAC files in DBpowerAmp

Ok, I finally did it! hehe and This time I documented my steps.
Every time I tried installing codecs it never worked. so I went from scratch. I hope this post will end this thread and help everyone who wants FLAC to be recognized. This is a short step by step instruction from beginning to end.

              Directories used are just examples

Uninstall all dbpoweramp items (accept for AMG if you have it installed)
              Install R11.5 dMC (X:\dAP)
              Install Legacy FLAC codec (X:\dAP)
              Install r3 Beta 6 of dAP (X:\dAP)

              Install R12.x dMC (X:\dMC)
install Codec Pack (I have reference version) (X:\dMC)
              Install new FLAC codec (X:\dMC)

You now have a working installation of dAP and dMC that recognizes FLAC files.

Thank you for your help Lt.
