    Re: PX760A running externally--best way?

yes, unfortunately making the Plextor 7xx work is a very hit and miss thing. even different SATA RAID MOBOs will make the Plextors not work with dbPoweramp.

    Re: PX760A running externally--best way?

This is my personal experience with Plextor 760 IDE drives and dbPoweramp (with C2 detection and Plextools):

Addonics SATA to IDE adapter card connected to motherboard SATA or to an ESTA PCI card...

Re: Plextor 760A and FUA Support

From personal experience I can tell you several common consumer media programs can interfere with Plextor 7XX units working properly with dbpoweramp by installing stuff at the Class Upper Filters or...

Thanks for this way down in the weeds work. It would be very desirable to get the Firewire interface working with DBpoweramp.

once I got the USB and eSATA working on my high performance business work stations I quit since I don't want anything really unusual on the work machines.

I have three other dedicated machines...

Re: best brand of cd-drive for ripping

The answer is only probably. It depends on your MOBO and what other software you might have on your machine.

The only bullet proof way I have found to guarantee c2 detection is with a PCI bus IDE...

I had the same thing happen to me. I was comparing eight different drives. I had the same key discs that worked with all but one drive.

I had to use three completely different discs to set the...

    Re: Better Classical Music Tagging

To summarize, my rant was that as Listener said, to get classical music right, it is all manual data entry. The existing sources of data are too inconsistent for automated tagging.

    I don't have...

    Re: Better Classical Music Tagging

I was aked to comment on this thread. The reason that I didn't jump in here earlier is that I have given up on elaborate classical tagging.

I think at this late date in digital audio, the...

  15. Re: C2 erorrs not detected when using Plextor drives via firewire (Oxford 911 chipset

  17. Re: C2 erorrs not detected when using Plextor drives via firewire (Oxford 911 chipset

That's great news since this means it is a bug that is "fixable". Multiple firewire ports will be much more palatable to folks than multiple esata or expensive USB interfaces.

    Thanks for the...
  18. Re: C2 erorrs not detected when using Plextor drives via firewire (Oxford 911 chipset

Try to not use USB/Firewire at the same time as SATA. Then use only two drives per sata PCI card (or MOBO SATA interface). Better yet one interface per drive sending each ripping stream to a fast HD...
  19. Re: C2 erorrs not detected when using Plextor drives via firewire (Oxford 911 chipset

I don't use batch ripper (i use multiple instances of R12 on XP). From "black box" monitoring R12 on my overclocked quadcore workstation, I don't think R12 can make optimum use of an individual...
  20. Re: dbpoweramp says drive cannot read into lead out; different results with it on
