ah ha-- so mine is an unbaged oem drive... it doesnt say LG on it.... i asummed it was LG as it looks exactly like my mates LG drive
ok i have an lg CD drive... and its called "HL-DT-ST - CD-RW GCE-8160B"
on the accurate website it says
HL-DT-ST - CD-RW GCE-8160B has a sample offset of +12
but all the LG drives say LG...

eg if i have folders like this
Music
...
WMA lossless or flac
which is better and why?
is there any quality difference between these and a wav file (i presume no)
and is wma lossless easy to use and convert to and from
yeah i know what you mean about getting 100% perfect rips
though all im bothered is getting perfect sounding rips not to bothered about the offsets but nice to know :D cheers spoon for al your info
yeah, i once copied a blur album off a friend but the back of it had all bobbled up and on some of the tracks it would pop and leave blank bits
so all it is, is basically you can loose 1/100th of a second at the start and at the end of a track
i have been reading the accurate rip site and i dont qwite understand what a sample offset is
im guessing a small value for sample offset is good
and that accurate rip will make sure that your...
surely when you install a program or load up a file from a cd the CD drive does this 100% accuratly otherwise it wouldent work
why isnt this the case with music ?
wav in, wav out
so i assume from your post it wont .... GREAT
will qwality suffer if i use audacity to chop up a track into a few sections ?
if i rip a song from an unscratched perfectly formed cd i have just bought and i rip it as a wav file, is it 100% accurate or not
and if not always can i check the accuracy?
