"2) Not sure"
Is Spoon joking about not knowing this, not that his/her posts are normally laden with gobs of humor?. I didn't see this on the log, so far as I could tell, but maybe I am missing...
thanks...so please weigh in on these still pending questions:
1) Since, apparently, some drives do interpolation on their own, is it true that interpolation on dbpoweramp only comes into play if...
"2) in any case, is it true that interpolation will ONLY have ocurred (if it did occur) on frames that were reported as a) secure, b) secure - warning, c) insecure, d ) error [all of those or...
Since, apparently, some drives do interpolation on their own, is it true that interpolation on dbpoweramp only comes into play if there was no interpolation by the drive OR if it was done so poorly...
"Normally you should not check the interpolation box. If not checked, the drive will do the job. If checked, dBpoweramp will do the job -- and I have yet to hear a drive which interpolates worse than...
That was my key question.
[GaryM: I am ripping to AIFF (except that I did some in WAV but the meta was screwed up so I converted to AIFF), except for downloads from the web (bandcamp, hd tracks,...
Suppose I rip "La Bamba" in dbpoweramp and it reports as "error" or "insecure". And I clean the cd and get same result. If I hear an audible problem on the CD then of course I have to get a new CD...
I have the box checked and sometimes I get tracks reported as "insecure" and sometimes as "error". So....that seems inconsistent with what the box is supposed to do.
Anyway, what is the purpose of...
Oops. I realize now that Drive D (which is the main hard disk drive on the netbook, for whatever reason), is now full. So, my goofup. I knew that it was getting near full but just assumed that...
ONE TRACK EXAMPLE that resulted in two reports:
Information ripping to Aiff, 'Track 7' to 'D:\samsung-db-aiff-report-postallf29\Bob Dylan\I'm Not There, Disc 1\07 John Doe - Pressing On.aif'
...
When I try to rip files I get a double report, one saying AR confidence X all is fine on every track, and and Errors report, also for every track, that says what I posted above. The folder...
Oh, my mistake, I meant to say mp3tag, not itunes. Thanks for the info.
I am learning how to edit ID tag with dbpoweramp. Garym mentioned doing this also with itunes. Is editing tags -- i.e. retagging in effect -- something all ripping programs do in some fashion or...
"correct. naming string tells it how to NAME the actual files (and what sudirectory to put the files in)."
To be precise, would it be correct to say this:
a) to the extent that the "naming"...
Do the "naming" settings actually only effect the folder location of a ripped file, and are not some inherent characteristic imbedded in the files/album. So, for example, if I forget to fill in...
Thanks, I will try that in the next couple days.
I tried to ask this yesterday but no one responded. This is a very complicated program with minimal "help" section, so I would hope people realize that it's reasonable to ask questions such as this....
anyone have an answer on this?....
1) how can you list movie soundtracks by the movie name (unless you think there is some more logical way to do this that you might suggest)
2) how do i do that...
Musicals and soundtracks are turning up in folders called Original London Cast, Various Artists, Soundtrack,....etc. Isn't the logical way to have these in folders named Titanic (the name of the...
So, I paid my 38$. This site is well worth it. I'm legit now. I can sleep at night. I can also continue to AR CDs. And ask questions when I'm confused........
I am talking about normal DVDs (not DVD-Audio if that is what you mean). Anyway, I take it that DB does not read any kind of DVD.
Any suggestions by anyone on how to convert the audio portion of...
I have zero experience with ripping DVDs. I have a couple concert DVDs I would, if possible, like to have as CDs, in effect, that is, as AIFF files so I can listen to them like audio files and not...
No idea what it means but I discovered by chance that if I click on a track in the mystery various artists album (in itunes), and then click "Get Info", when I close the box the track disapears from...
A problem came up with my wav to aiff batch conversion. Most of the albums came out OK, completely, but a few came out with tracks in slightly scrambled order
within the album track list...and, more...
So, I got the brilliant idea that I would copy some of my cd collection in AIFF (which has been working fine) and some in WAV, so in case I later decide for some reason -- you know, a wacky article...
