The issue seems to be with Android clients.
I tried on the native client in my Marantz receiver and I tried...
On a Galaxy Note 4 I've tried both the Skifta client app and Bubble UPnP https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp
The skip only seems to happen on transcoded...
Using Asset 5.1 on Windows Server 2012 R2.
I've found that transcoding Apple Lossless and AAC seems to skip. It's fairly predictable and happens at roughly one minute and fifty seconds into the...
Setting it to "as WAV" worked! Everything responds very quickly now. Odd that it would get screwy now; I've had that set to MP3 literally for years. Super glad it's working again, though.
If you'd...
I ran some tests and it seems to be any music that gets transcode has the problem. I have AAC set to transcode to 256 MP3, and any tracks I play that are AAC or Apple Lossless are the ones where it...
I just tested this with a wired client (Windows 8.1 Media Player) and two wireless clients (iPad, Android phone) and Asset's nice and snappy to respond to them. It really does seem specific to the...
It's connected via wired Ethernet. Other network services to the PS3 (Netflix, Plex, etc.) are not experiencing any issues. It's just in talking to Asset.
I have registered Asset 4.3 on WHS1.
It was awesome for quite some time, but it has recently been slow to respond to requests from my PS3. For example, I browse to a track to play on the PS3,...
I'm on Asset 4, WHS v1, registered. Before the 4.0 Asset upgrade, when playing songs through my PS3 I was able to see the album art for a song both while browsing (in the hierarchy) and on the screen...
Found another playlist thing - updated my playlists (and added a couple of new ones) with the .m3u8 extension. On Playstation 3 they show up perfectly. On my Android phone (Android 2.2) the dynamic...
UTF-8 and .m3u8 is indeed the playlist secret. Works! Thanks!
Verified the playlists are working on PS3.
Oh, found one issue with playlists - if you have a song with a non-ASCII character in it, you can't play it. It comes up with the title mangled and the artist is "Unknown Artist."
In my case, the...
Verified that playlists work from Windows Home Server, at least on my Droid X DLNA client. (Will test with PS3 later, but the wife is on it. I'm sure it'll work.)
Thanks!
FYI, I just got my Droid X updated to Android 2.2 (Froyo) and updated to the latest Asset beta. If you select AAC, etc. to stream as MP3 (I used 256k) then you can play things on your Android phone...
Tested Asset from WHS to my new Droid X (which comes with a DLNA client) - no luck. It says the data is unsupported. Tried transcoding things to WAV, LPCM, and MP3 but it didn't like any of them....
I uninstalled the previous beta, cleared out the library folder to make sure everything was fresh, upgraded to the latest beta, set AAC, M4A, MP4 to all transcode to LPCM, and rebooted the Windows...
Not sure if anyone else has run into this:
I have Apple Lossless and AAC music all with .m4a extensions. (That's how iTunes deals with it.) I have ".m4a," ".mp4," and ".aac" all set to transcode...
I have playlists in \\homeserver\Public\Playlists. I have Asset set up to look in D:\shares\Public\Playlists for them and it is set to know that the folder contains playlists. They are .m3u playlists...
I'm gathering that no one has playlists working from Windows Home Server?
Just upgraded to the latest Asset UPnP 3 beta for Windows Home Server. Getting better and better. Tested out well on both Xbox 360 and PS3. Two things I noticed:
Fast forward and rewind behave...
Upgraded to the latest v3 beta for Windows Home Server. The sort issues I saw earlier are fixed, which is cool. I also really like the alphabet search folders under artist and album so it's easier to...
When is the next update for Asset v3 planned?
I got an Onkyo TX-NR3007 which supports DLNA streaming and I found that while the manual claims support of WAV and LPCM formats (p.124) it only seems to work with forced WAV streaming - forced LPCM...
After a little investigation, it turns out some album art is showing up for Apple Lossless tracks - the tracks without album art are ones that iTunes downloaded the art for. I'll have to write a...
