ALAC (on Imac) to FLAC on NAS drive

    Hi Guys

Not tech savvy, so be kind.

I wish to convert my entire music library from ALAC (but want to keep it in ALAC on my Imac) to FLAC on to my NAS drive (new unit does not like ALAC)

How do I achieve this? & will be there be loss of quality?

You would not lose quality if the audio is ALAC (apple lossless, and not AAC, any purchased tracks from Apple are AAC).

You can use Batch Converter, select the folder where the ALAC files are (perhaps use the OS X version of dBpoweramp which is currently in the testing section of this web), set the dynamic naming to:

    [origpath]\[origpath]

and choose the folder above dynamic to the nas music share.
