i have an iaudio x5 and have managed to make it communicate with sveta just fine.
since the x5 doesnt use id3 tags for browsing, ive had to arrange all of my music into folders on my computer.
the folder structure i use is -> music\artist\album\## title.ogg
i successfully transferred all of my files over to the x5 using the arrangement option and having sveta rearrange the files into folders on the x5 based on their tags.
this seems to be an overcomplicated solution, since all im doing is essentially copying the folders over, and also, with this method, sveta doesnt recognise the files as already existing on the x5, which seems like itll make future synchronising a pain.
it seems that a more elegant solution is to use dmc file selector, but when i try to use it to transfer my music over, i run into problems. i have the "keep path when convert" box checked and then select my root music folder and click "convert to".
on the next screen i have my x5 selected at the top, and in the "write to" box, it shows "removable device". when i click the folder button to choose my MUSIC folder on the x5, all of the folders have a 0 in front of them, so they look like 0\root, 0\music, 0\video etc...
i dont have any option to edit the 0 out of them, it appears.
under "compression" i have it set to "send as is".
the "output to" section is greyed out.
now, i think i have it all set to copy my files over with no conversions in the same folder structure i have on my computer.
when i click on convert, the files all get sent over no problem.
however, there are 2 problems which i have no idea how to solve.
firstly, the files are put in a sub folder of 0.
the second problem is that the folder structure has been completely lost.
so, now all of my music is in the 0\music\ folder.
i dont want a 0 folder, and i want to have my music sorted into different folders.
help! i just want to send my files over in the same structure as they are on my computer with no converting!
i could do it very easily in windows explorer drag and drop, but i want to keep the database and synchronisation functionality of sveta.
is there any way to do this?
any help would be greatly appreciated!
