What is a skin?

A skin is exactly what it sounds like.. A covering substance.

So a Skin for dBpowerAMP is a new *look* to the player. Go to the Skin Download section and you will see Spoon has posted pictures of what the new skins look like.

Basically it gives users the ability to change the way dBpowerAmp looks on their computer.

Hey, I have a question about Skin Designer.. i have been working on my first skin all day, it is very high quality and is almost complete. But I cannot seem to figure out one thing to finish it off.... how to link a button in main amp window to open or close equalizer and credits windows.

thank you for your support.. after i figure this out, skin will be released in an hour or so.

You have to make an equalizer window yourself. There is no quick link to the equalizer in the menu or credits (you have to go through the menu) - you can load the default skin into the Skin designer to see how it works.

yea i understand, i have 3 windows so far, main, equalizer and credits... everything is designed and set up,....on my main window, i have a working button to turn Eq on/off and a button to show and close Eq window, but unfortunately i cannot get it to work, because there i dont see such action in "toggle" menu to open another window (eq window).... same problem with credits. hope its more clearer now, sorry it was pretty late at night when i was typing other post.

You need to set the eq window so it is show while 'some user event name' - you then set a button to 'toggle' that user event name on the main page.

You need to download and install SkinDesigner. From inside SkinDesigner you can load that blank - and any other - skin:)

Last I knew, the Narler tutorial was really the best guide to skin design. The Skin Designer Help file does provide a few more tips.
What I think might be most helpful is to direct you to the new Skins site which has a forum (pretty much waiting to be broken in) to offer guidance in designing skins for people new to Skin Designer. This site can be found here:

Best wishes,
