I'm debating purchasing the app but could you answer a few questions?
All my music on my computer is in .flac format.
I'll use Sveta to send the music to my ipod nano.
Will Sveta convert from .flac, on-the-fly, while loading the songs onto the ipod? What format will this be? mp3? mp4? ???
Can you give me a step-by-step?
Also, how long does it take to convert on-the-fly from .flac directly to ipod? 10mins? 20mins? 60mins?
I prefer to skip the step of converting the .flac to .mp3, then loading the mp3 to the ipod. I would use iTunes otherwise.

thanks

Yes, Sveta will convert your FLAC files and send the output file to the player. The format it converts to is up to you. The iPod supports mp3, mp4, and AAC in a mp4 container.

The basic steps are first setting up Sveta to tell it what encoding format you want to be the default. You can set up "Smart" transfers, so that it always encodes one format, encodes below/above a certain bitrate of another format, and leaves a third format alone.
Then, Sveta converts one song at a time on your computer, storing the temporary file there, and then sends the finished file at the end of each conversion to your player.

You can always try the free Sveta 30-day trial and see how you like it.

As for time, it will probably take a little over a minute to convert and send each song. However, this speed will be different for each computer and iPod.

Will the album art be viewable on my NANO?

I have the art in the FLAC tags and as a .jpg file within the album's folder. II noticed that the WinAmp plug-in for doing this function does not support album art because the iPod does not simply display the art tag but references some database.

Neither Sveta nor dMC support album art in any form, sorry.
