i connected my shuffle n using sveta converted my mp3 into .acc n was downloadin them onto my shuffle!! - did about 120 songs! - took me bout 2 hrs to do that  (songs were copied onto the root folder)

now my shuffle just refuses to play those songs!!!!

in sveta - my ishuffle properties - have these options checked:
1. when edit audio tags.....
2. audio arrangement

i ve checked onto the apple stie n this is what it says:

"If you try to play a song on iPod shuffle that was encoded in AAC format (.M4A) by a third-party application, iPod shuffle may not play it and skip to the next song. To prevent this from happening, always use iTunes to encode songs to AAC for iPod shuffle play."

is there no work around for this!? ...i prefer sveta to itunes!! :smile2:

Download the "AAC to MP4" codec here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-mp4.htm
The difference is, on all iPods, AAC files must be in a mp4 container, NOT the standard aac container. That is why they will not play. The "AAC to MP4" codec changes the container without losing quality.
Though I must ask: Why did you switch from mp3 to aac?

had mp3's pf diff bitrates n also wanted more songs! :smile2:

n also would the songs play if stored in the root folder?

You could just convert your songs to mp4 or to a lower-bitrate mp3. You can have "smart" settings in Sveta that tell it to convert all mp3s over a certain bitrate to another bitrate, but not change those under that bitrate.
For example, if you set the limit to 192kbps, anything over 192kbps (256, for example) it will convert to the setting you specify, in this case we'll say 192kbps. Anything under 192kbps, like 128kbps, will be left-alone and sent as-is.

There are 2 different m4a codecs, have another look at codec central (it was updated 2 days ago), it explains pretty much the differences. The iPod does not need raw aac, rather in a m4a container.
