View Full Version : Can't read any song info on my Rio Karma

After I convert songs and put them on my Rio there are only blank fields. The song is there and plays but there is no info at all (Title, Artist, Length, Codec......) on my Rio Scree.
I tried to Rip from a CD, explorer right-click and convert, even filled out the ID tags manually but always the same result. After the songs are on my Rio any info about the song is gone and all I see is a blank screen.
Are there any settings I have to adjust or is this normal?
Anyone else has these problems?

What files have these problems? Ogg, mp3, WAV, FLAC? Have you tried a different format? If they are mp3 files giving you this trouble, what are your MP3 tagging settings. What program are you using to transfer them? Sveta?
Moved to Sveta section

Yes, I'm using sweta. I tried to convert some FLAC files to Ogg vorbis and and transferred them on my Rio Karma. The files showed up but NO information at all. The same happened when I ripped an Audio CD to my Rio Karma. Pretty frustrating.

Do you see ID tags for those converted files while on the pc?
What ID tagging scheme did you define in dMC Configuraiton for Flac?

Does your audio player show tags for the Ogg and FLAC files?
If you use Rio's Music Manager to transfer the files, does the information show up?

Yes everything works fine when I use RMM. I just transferred a MP3 file to my Rio via Sveta and everything got lost as well. I didn't even convert the file. My Rio Karma has the newest firmware installed.
When I check the tags on my PC they show up on all my files. Like I said when I transfer them to my Rio NOTHING shows up. Not even the filename.

This may be a stupid question. Did you download the Sveta drivers for Rio Karma? http://www.dbpoweramp.com/sveta-portable-dnna.htm

Yes I downloaded it. Like I said, I don't have any problems to transfer music to my Rio. It's just that all my (Tag) info is getting lost. Is there any extra configurations in the program that I'm not aware of?

You haven't said what ID tagging configuration you use. You can see that by running dMC Configuration.

Try installing the latest beta version of Sveta and the correct Beta Sveta Driver (in the beta section of this forum).

Tag Creation Smart Ape2&ID3v1
Write ID3v1 Version v1.1
ID3v1 UTF8 Read yes
ID3v1 UTF8 write no
Write ID3v2 Unicode no
Write Id3v2 version v2.3
I guess it's the default configuration. I don't remember changing anything.

I just bought the license for the Sveta and PowerPack and I received a download-link for it. It must be the newest version.

The registered version is the latest full release. There is a beta version that has many improvements and new drivers, linked below. There is also a beta version of dMC that has many improvements also. For dMC, install the registered version over your current version. For Sveta, uninstall the current version and install the new beta.
Try changing from APE2&ID3V1 to ID3v2&ID3v1.

Downloaded the Beta and it looks good. If it would only work....
Same problem. NO fileinfo. Even if I just take a file (MP3, OGG, FLAC....) And transfer it to my Rio via Sveta all the info gets lost. Also the file doesn't show up as an Audio/Music file just as a program file.

You have installed the latest Sveta Beta and the latest Rio Evo Sveta Beta driver?

It didn'twork with the latest driver so I downloaded dbPower AMP and for whatever reason it seems to work now. Maybe you need dBPower AMP for the other applications to work or something...
Problem now is that after installing the Sveta beta driver it seems it jumped back into a 'Trial' version and it gives me the option to register the Power Pack even so I already purchased it...
I'm afraid to re-install the registered version back over it (from the link in my email) because I finally got it working and don't want to mess things up again. Is there another way of getting the program registered?

What does dMC Configuration say regarding your registered status of the PowerPack? (Start --> Programs --> dBpowerAMP Music Converter --> Configuration --> dMC Configuration)

Sveta has no files that are overwritten by a dbpoweramp music converter registered install, so install away without uninstalling anything.
