Audio format comparison

Does anyone know of a site or sites that have done test to determine the quality of different audio compression formats?
I would really like to finally know what the best format is for a curtain situation.

What answer you get depends on your ears, what you test with, and what bitrate you use. The review I just linked you to is for low bitrate use (eg on MP3 player). If you want archive (other than lossless) you'll get a different answer (probably MPC or similar).
