hidden files

in using sveta with my philips hd120/17 I have noticed that there are a number of files that are hidden.

Can they be unhidden? Why are they so designated?

They are probably system files that are hidden so that you don't think they are unnecessary and delete them.

It is something wierd on the philips, perhaps it tried to play and could not decode.
