First, I would like to say that this program is great and serves a great need, becasue most software out there really stinks.

I bought my wife this Yepp because her Nomad II wore out. The Yepp seems okay but the software is absolutely horrible. The new rio-port stuff stinks. She is so used to the Creative Playcenter that she used for her Nomad. Your program operates very closely as the Creative program.

The problem is that Sveta is not working properly with this player (I know it is not listed, but it works fine with WMP...I have XP Pro) When I install new device..I get two options: One w/o SMC (yp-700)and another when the card is installed (yp-700 card 2). Anyway, the program seems to recognize my player but it can not locate any tracks or transfer anything. I am able to format thru Sveta and then and only then will it show how much space is remaining at the bottom of the screen, but still can not transfer. If I then turn off then on, the space available does not show again. It seems so close to working....seems odd that Win-Media Player works but this doesn't.

The program works fine with my Nomad II.

Here is the log with the Yepp:

Looking at the log, installing the Yepp E-Series driver may help. My only experience with the Yepp series is the E64 player (which I would not recommend - the Rios are much better).

It's worth a try, anyway.

I tried that too, still didn't help.

Thanks

You don't need the Removable Device driver, or Yepp-E driver - they can be uninstalled.

The Windows Media Device Driver is the correct one, but it does not seem to like sveta.

I am thinking that there are two ways of using the WMDD, the other way I do not try to access the device is through the secure authenticated path - Windows Media Player will, Sveta will not. For 99% of the devices out there this is not a problem, but Samsung must have written it that way. In the short term there is nothing I can do, sorry.

PS getting all the correct keys from Microsoft is real hard work - I tried again last year (the years before keys have since expired...), they rejected it - I am about ot reapply again, but really it sucks so much of my time filling in 40 page legal documents and the like.

can anyone help me? i rec'd the samsung yepp yp-700 as a gift through my company. i originally had loaded the software cd on my company computer that was included with the player. however, my company computer was mandated to get a new hardrive and i never saved the program, obviously bc i had in on cd. anyway, long to short, i lost the cd in a move and now i have no way of linking up my player to the computer,etc...
i have been trying to find a support site or free software online but my efforts have been futile. any ideas? thanks-
