I've been given some .wma files on a cd that i wish to convert to .wav so I can burn them onto cd. If I try to play them I keep getting license acquisition reqd, and non of my software will convert them (EAC,Goldwave)is there a programme I need to do this.

Copy the .wma files to your pc first.
Maybe the program mentioned in this thread http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=6541 will work for you.
Make sure you read until the end of the thread for better tips on how to get around the default bitrate settings.

Can you play them in Windows Media Player or does it also complain about licences?
If WMP can't play them you may have to contact whoever gave you this CD and ask them to supply you with copies of their licences. Alternatively ask them to create an audio cd from the wma files instead, that you will be able to rip.
