volume normalize

Several of my friends also have dbpowerAMP music converter and they have volume mormalize or normalize volume, forget which one. I do not have this on mine and the CDs I produce have sound levels all over the place. Csn you tell me what I am doing wrong or is there something I do nto have clicked somewhere. Thank you .
