Unable to encode AAC to MP3

I'm using R11 from DMC and when I try to convert from AAC to MP3, a messages pops up stating that MusicConverter. exe has generated errors and it will be shut down by Windows. I'm using Windows 2000. Please help me out!!

What are the specs of your AAc file? Is it .mp4 or .m4a or .m4p or .aac?

Have you tried to do only a test conversion (no write) using dMC? If that fails then your file is not readable by dMC.

How about converting to something else like regular uncompressed wav assuming the test conversion works?

Have you installed the decoding codec to the same folder as everything else in dBpowerAMP?
