i originally heard about dbpoweramp and sveta portable audio on tech tv and tried it out for my nike psa 256. it worked decently, but have since found a winamp plugin that allows me to send an entire playlist at one time, which is what i really wanted. make a playlist and send. this works fine for the psa becuase it shows all mountable devices (like flash memory mp3 players and thumb drives) in the media library.
so my girlfriends creative nomad jukebox is acting up and i decide to try to back up the music before it is all lost. the winamp plugin wont work for the nomad becuase it isnt a mountable device. so i decided to try s.p.a. again after remembering seeing drivers for the nomad.
i installed the drivers and got an error message about needing powerpack to run the sveta now. i tried with my psa and got the same message. i tried the other set of drivers for the nomad and still got nowhere. same error. i never had powerpack installed the entire time i used s.p.a. and dont know what the deal is now. can some of you give me a hand on how to correct this problem so i can use sveta to back up the nomad before it is too late? i like s.p.a. and hope it can help me once again.
thanks.

I think you can download and install PowerPack from http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc-power-pack.htm for free for a short time on a trial basis. After that it must be registered (i.e. bought :)). This may give you enough time to do what you want to do for now.

well heres the catch....i DID download powerpack and i DID install it and still yet, after doing so, it STILL gives me the error. i dont know what to do now. i fully uninstalled and reinstalled fresh db.p.a. s.p.a. and the creative stuff, still no go. im at a loss, and i really would like to get this all backed up.
any more suggestions?

try reactivate the powerpack: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/ReactivatePP.exe
well, that worked....SORTA. reactivating the power pack allowed me to see what is on the nomad jukebox. i have no idea how it worked. my powerpack must have been expired when i downloaded and installed it becuase i did all that fresh before posting.
anyway, now i can see what is on the nomad, and i can even successfully send files TO the nomad. HOWEVER, when i try to PULL files OFF of the nomad, it always returns the error that says "nomad reports that the file cant be retrieved" or something close to that. am i doing something wrong?
i even looked in the registry for the keys that are specified on the download page under the pretense of not being able to recognize the nomad. there are NO keys for the nomad detector in those locations.
what is the next step that i can do? im on a bit of a time line now as i only have 30 days to get this fixed and pull all the files off before my power pack expires...again. if i can get this up and working, and it is replicable, i may invest the 20 bucks in the power pack just for the sake of this stupid nomad.
so if anyone has any options for me to try on how to retrieve files FROM the nomad to my computer, please let me know.
thanks for the help so far.

Sounds like you have the Windows Device Manager driver installed, as opposed to the Creative Jukebox driver - the former will not allow files to be copied off. Sveta Add device >> Advanced will show which driver is installed.

Remove the device from Sveta then uninstall just the WDM driver. I have 3 computers and one of those the creative drivers will not work (even creatives simple example program will not work), the system drivers can get messed up - in a way I have not been able to sort out (hence I give the option of the other driver).
