Monkey Audio to Ogg Distortion using dMC

I am getting some audio distortion when I convert from Monkey audio to Ogg using dMC. I realize that Ogg is lossy and hence there should be some distortion. However, I hear clipping (popping sounds) only during the loud parts of the music. The low volume sections of the music sound great.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

what version of monkey and what version dmc are you using. use the latest beta dmc. and what OS? win98 or XP? i had issues under win98.
