Decreasing the size of new converted file

How can I decrease the size of my newly converted .mp3 to .wav file down so that it will be downloaded faster by other user computers??

Mp3 is small, wave files tend to be uncompressed audio and much larger (unless a Mpeg3 layer 1 wave file is created).
