Am running XP and have used sveta with my rio500 for a year or so. am running whatever is the latest beta.
today i had a new problem. i selected the tracks from the sveta ap itself. it uploaded one track fine, then the next two uploaded at 0 kbps and 12:15 long. i could tell something wasn't right so I canceled the upload. I got an error message saying it couldn't transfer the last 2 tracks, then I got the gray screen (with a full battery), and the system rebooted. i shut off the rio and did'nt have to recover it after all, but when i came back to sveta, the 20 tracks that i had highlighted were gone from my pc.

Perhaps a few things going on, the 0Kbps - these files migh be in a strange format (or have a messy id3v2 tag) which is messing things up.

You rebooted, or it did it it's self automatically?

gray screen was on the rio. and it rebooted itself. i am able to upload using DMC File Selector but have not yet been able to get back in through sveta. The upload clock on the 1st track just keeps going and going until the rio gives up and powers off and then i get errors. and those mp3 files are really gone, btw.

correction: i didn't lose all the tracks that were queued for uploading. just the first handful that it failed to send to the rio.

mm, it's worse than i thought. file selector doesn't work either. it filled up the rio with garbled nothing. i'm going to try loading a flash card through an external drive with sveta. if it works, the rio's the problem.

The Rio 500 can only be loaded through its self (it cannot read flash cards written by windows).
Try simply using Sveta Explorer, format all the memory then transfer the files - if you have a problem with one file, try to transfer it back to the PC to check it out.

i reformatted. tried to upload one song. it went through the steps but the song is loaded as 12:15 length and 0 kbps. and the song is gone from my pc. sveta has worked great for me for a year or so btw.

You are uploading with Sveta Explorer? using the right hand drive pane? check on the Sveta 'Audio' button that the upload is set to [send as is].
